Ashley Dietz appointed Parrish School Assistant Principal

Carbondale, Ill – On Thursday, February 27, 2025, the Carbondale Elementary School District #95 Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of longtime district educator Ashley Dietz as Parrish Elementary School's Assistant Principal. She will begin her new role as assistant principal on July 1, 2025.

Raised on a small family farm in Southern Illinois, Dietz graduated from Agape Christian High school. She earned her bachelor's in elementary education from Southern Illinois University in 2014. After graduating, Dietz started working at Parrish Elementary as a kindergarten teacher, a role she has filled for the past ten years.

During her tenure at Parrish, Dietz has participated in the LETRS cohort, mentored student teachers from SIU, served on multiple curriculum teams, and currently helps lead MTSS at Parrish. Every spring, She organizes and leads the Parrish kindergarten farm field trip, allowing students to visit her family farm and learn all about agriculture.

As a proud educator in District #95, Dietz credits her positive experience to the staff and families she has built lasting relationships with. Dietz says, "I am convinced that being a servant is the heart of an impactful leader. My role as assistant principal will be to serve the staff, families, and, most importantly, the students at Parrish in all capacities.” She is excited to continue working with stakeholders and building relationships as assistant principal next school year.
