    District #95 alerts parents of suspicious activity involving a man attempting to offer Carbondale Community High School students a ride at a bus stop on W. Cherry St. on this morning (Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018).

         Parents are reminded to talk to their students about contact with strangers.

         Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Carbondale Police Department at 618.457.3200.

  • Carbondale Elementary School District #95 is closed Monday, Nov. 12, in observance of Veterans Day.

         District schools are also closed the week of Thanksgiving, Nov. 19 to 23rd.

  • CES District #95 Supt. Daniel L. Booth is hosting a meeting to discuss the recently released Illinois School Report Card / ESSA Designations for the district.

         The meeting is 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Lakeland Administrative Center, 925 So. Giant City Road.

  • Carbondale Elementary School District #95's Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is inviting all district families to its first Community Family Night on Monday, Oct. 22, 2018.

         The Community Family Night is being held to meet members and families in the school community and introduce them to supports, inside and outside of the district.

         The event is free, and a light meal will be provided (compliments of the University Place McDonald's and the Moreland-Bishop Foundation.)

  • In early October, District 95's ESL teachers are meeting with EL parents to help them better understand district testing of their students. During the meeting, the parents will learn more about the ACCESS test and how to set learning goals with their children.

         The meeting will be 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Parrish Elementary School.  It is open to parents and their students.

         Translation services, childcare and snacks will be provided.

    For the 16th time out of the last 18 years Carbondale Middle School qualifies for National History Day competition winning the state in the category of junior group performance. The students are Lily Bishop, Carly Hertzing, and Khadia Coulibaly.

    Carbondale Middle School may be a big school but the teachers' interactions with students makes it more like a big family. Students have a wide variety of access to opprtunities and learning.
