Positive Behavior Incentive System

  • In order to award excellent behavior, Carbondale Middle School has the Positive Behavior Incentive System (PBIS). Under this system, we recognize the academic, behavioral, and attendance acheivements for each grade quarterly. To be able to attend, students must meet the point average expectations.  Points are taken based on the following actions:

    Lunch detention = -1

    After school detention = -2

Bus problem or creative measure = -3

    In-school suspension = -4

Out of school suspension = -5

2 unexcused absences = handled case by case

Students can lose points up until the time of the Quarter Awards Day. The final determination of any student in question is made by the school administration.

Students of the Month

  • The Student of the Month Program is part of our awards system for recognizing positive student behavior. The program is sponsored by the Carbondale Lion's Club. Each month a student is chosen based on a combination of progress, citizenship, grades, and services.
