WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) - Is the father involvement initiative of the National Center for Fathering that organizes fathers and father figures in order to provide positive male role models for the students and to enhance school security. Today, more than 2276 active programs in 41 states participate in the WATCH D.O.G.S. Program.

Who are WatchDOGS? Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school principal or other adminstrator.

Watch D.O.G. uniforms will be for sale during the event. The program asks that you wear your "uniform" to school when you volunteer. These "uniforms"... a.k.a. Watch D.O.G. Tshirts will be on sale for $13.00.

 In Memory of Elaine Nguyen

On Thursday, May 16, Lewis School held a dedication ceremony in honor of Elaine Nguyen. Elaine was a fifth grade student at Lewis School for the 2011-12 school year. She passed away days before the end of the school year last May. Faculty at Lewis School wanted to plant a tree in her honor. Many teachers, staff, students, and former students attended the dedication as well as Elaine's mother and sister. This crab apple tree will serve as a reminder of Elaine who was a beautiful young lady and wonderful student.
