Hello! My name is Sherry Lence and I am fortunate enough to teach art in grades 1-5 in Carbondale Elementary School District 95. Each of the 900 plus students I teach gets 30 minutes of art instruction per week. I have a Masters of Arts degree in Teaching, and a B.A. in Art Education. I have many hours of education in Psychology, Art Therapy and Math Education. I have enjoyed teaching at all levels, including junior college, high school, grade school, and pre-school for 25 years. I also cooperate with Southern Illinois University and train student teachers in the classroom.





Hello, I am Brad Moore, and I am currently in my 18th year as a Carbondale Middle School art instructor. 10 years before I became a teacher, I was a full-time Illustrator. I continue to freelance artwork, and to this date, I have been published worldwide; well over three hundred times. I exhibit many times each year, and I was one of only two american artists chosen for the international surrealist exhibition in switzerland held in the summer of 2006. In my teaching I like to import "Real-World" practicality in my lessons, and to stress to my students that they are learning job skills for a possible future in art, illustration, and/or design.
